Overview

Kemin is seeking a Worldwide Marketing Intelligence & Data Analyst to join their corporate marketing team. This tactical position supports Kemin's strategic goals by proactively working on various marketing initiatives, including benchmarking and economic analysis. In this role, you will conduct competitive business intelligence research and perform marketplace analysis on both current and new products, making presentations to both internal and external audiences.  

Your recommendations will help guide the management team in making critical decisions regarding market share, product offerings, and financial goals. You'll evaluate competitive information and strategies, pricing patterns, development plans, and product offerings. You will work in coordination with the entire team, referencing the strategic plan to execute specific assignments with the end goal of maximizing Kemin's marketing efforts to drive financial and industry growth.  

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years experience in qualitative research experience. Additionally, they will be adept at managing multiple projects and prioritizing tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct extensive competitive research such as technical literature searches, product
    comparisons, industry analysis, compiles valuable quantitative and qualitative competitive data on current or new products in the marketplace, market potential, trends, and cost, and analyzes and accurately interprets critical data before making recommendations based on their findings.
  • Perform extensive data analysis and evaluate competitive information and strategies, product
    offerings, pricing patterns, and development plans
  • Present findings in an appropriate and timely manner to allow the management team to
    make critical decisions based on key research data.
  • Make internal and external presentations on their findings
  • Perform benchmarking and business, market, and economic analysis
  • Assist in the identification and qualification of product/marketing opportunities
  • Organize and maintain essential information in a research database
  • Manage timelines and projects
  • Act as a liaison for the department, tracking and shepherding projects from beginning to conclusion, and work collaboratively with a diverse staff/team on cross-organizational and departmental tactics to support business efforts.
  • Provide ongoing expert knowledge to the company in the area of competitive market research/analysis
    and support for efforts to help Kemin expand its commercial sales efforts
  • Conduct basic market research to determine market share and other relevant business environment indicators and monitor the competitive environment, including competitor products and product reviews
  • Monitor competitive products and market share, sales and marketing activities, and develop
    category knowledge and understanding to provide useful analysis.
  • Work with appropriate vendors and outsourced agencies;
  • Provide timely, accurate, and relevant information to the Marketing team;
  • Conduct early-stage merger, alliance, and/or acquisition analysis
  • Conduct financial analysis and reporting - market analysis, forecasting, business performance
    metrics

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Marketing, Economics, Statistics, or Business related field with 3+ years' experience in qualitative Market Research and decision science, along with experience in corporate market research, new product research, or market research capacity, or marketing agency
  • Additional related experience may substitute.
  • Background in planning, designing, managing, analyzing, and reporting of qualitative and quantitative research studies
  • Knowledge of product development innovation process
  • Intermediate PC knowledge of MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Access, & PowerPoint), SharePoint, and Power BI. Other software may be required.
  • Ability to present complex information internally and externally
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Intermediate Project Management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Bilingual skills are highly desired.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and maintain a professional demeanor while working under pressure

  • International market experience is highly desired
