About This Position:
As the Senior Ag Communications Specialist, you’ll play a key role in leading initiatives that enhance our employer brand, ensuring our story resonates authentically with the public. You will frequently collaborate with key members of the organization, including the C-Suite and the Board of Directors, as well as external media outlets. This position develops and implements corporate communications plans that help drive positive public awareness, community spirit, and industry engagement. You’ll oversee and project manage corporate communications campaigns to promote AgroLiquid, establish relationships with journalists and media outlets, handle public inquires, and design crisis communications plans. As a team member this role will provide you the opportunity to leverage your expertise in corporate brand management, promote collaboration, and apply critical thinking to drive successful outcomes. You are an ideal candidate if you have experience in developing and executing external communications strategies that accurately reflect the organization’s mission, vision, values, and culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop effective corporate communications and public relations strategies.
- Create and implement an annual press release calendar and social media content calendar.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for corporate communications with general and industry media outlets.
- Oversee the distribution of releases and conduct follow-ups as necessary.
- Manage the development of key messages and provide media training for the leadership team.
- Build and maintain a media contact list focused on industry relations.
- Lead communications efforts in developing and implementing a strategic merger and acquisition communications plan.
- Negotiate and manage annual corporate industry contracts, agreements and sponsorships, plus project manage associated materials and deliverables required with each.
- Write talking points and speeches, and conduct practice sessions with speakers.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with media representatives.
- Track, report, and analyze media impressions.
- Generate positive publicity through various media channels.
- Coordinate and complete assigned projects within budget, scope, and timeline.
- Assist in organizing trade shows and field events as needed.
- Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and protocols at all times.
Key Requirements:
- Extensive experience in developing and executing robust corporate communications or public relations strategies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- Strong project management experience in marketing.
- Experience in reputation management, particularly in working with executives and providing insights into strategic communications.
- Exceptional writing skills, including copywriting, content generation, editing, and proofreading.
- Marketing experience in production agriculture or crop nutrition is a plus.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
