Job Summary
The National Association of Farm Broadcasting (NAFB) is looking for a detail-oriented, tech-savvy Administrative Assistant who’s excited to support a dynamic organization at the center of agricultural media and communications.
This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career (or looking for flexible part-time work) or a freelancer who wants hands-on experience in events, digital communications, membership engagement, and media operations—all while working alongside industry leaders.
The NAFB Administrative Assistant provides essential support to the Executive Director, Director of Member Services, and Industry Engagement Director. This role plays a key part in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, supporting membership services, coordinating communications, assisting with events, and helping administer the NAFB News Service.
This is a part-time, in-office position for two to three days a week, based in Platte City, Missouri, that can evolve into full-time.
Key Responsibilities
Membership Support
- Assist the Director of Member Services with membership reporting, recruitment campaigns, and engagement initiatives
- Support development and distribution of member communications (e.g., newsletters and emails via Constant Contact)
- Assist with member recruitment efforts and outreach
- Support member invoicing processes
Events & Programs
- Provide administrative and on-site support for key NAFB events, including: Washington Watch, Summer Agribusiness Event, NAFB Convention, Trade Talk
- Assist in developing event materials and logistics
- Support coordination of the NAFB Foundation auction
- Help manage event registration, including on-site attendee support
News Service Administration
- Assist with administrative functions of the NAFB News Service, including:
- Organizing sponsor contracts and billing documentation
- Ensuring usage reports are completed and distributed to sponsors
General Administrative Support
- Provide day-to-day office support as needed
- Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general internet tools
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines
